Valentines Day was spent well at Nanluoguxiang with this lovely group of friends. It took us almost an hour to get there by car and then subway train. We walked through the kilometers of markets, popped into a few bars and restaurants then finally into the night we ended at a fancy bar for a few beers and entertainment!
Nanluoguxiang is absolutely beautiful! One of my favourite locations in Beijing. It was cold, hence the hot coffee in my hand and the warm jumpers. The entire day and night was spent at Nanluoguxiang, so many things to do and see. All of us girls were given red roses from the boys and a helium heart shaped balloon; it was one of the best valentines days ever! The nightlife is very different to my routine of ‘heading out to drinks’. I never drink beer, but this one time I did and it wasn’t too bad. I’m usually a wine or spirit drinker. However, Chinese beer is so cheap, about $2AUD for a large glass bottle about 500 or 750ml. The boys made a bulk order of about 20 something bottles! Our table was full, I struggled to finish 3 bottles since I never drink fizzy. We ordered some popcorn and nuts and spent the night playing drinking games with dice. I’m definitely going to re-visit Nanluoguxiang before I return to Australia, absolutely love it!!
