What happens with an overloaded suitcase? What Overload? Ooh Shopping spree!
Oh boy, did this day turn into an unforgettable memory. It was a Thursday afternoon and we had all finished work, heading to Chaoyang shopping mall. It was about a 40 minute drive away, so a bit of an effort to get there- but totally worth it! At this point in time I already knew my suitcase was a struggle, but I kept saying to myself ‘I’ll figure it out later’…
Yi, Lemon and myself were hopping across the two shopping malls across the road from each other, each atleast 4 kilometers in length! There were way to many shops to choose from and I felt I would have needed atleast 2-3 days to walk through just one of the malls. However, we had set a plan as all we wanted to buy summer dresses! – Even though Australia was going into Winter. The first stop was H&M, my ultimate favourite. We spent almost 2 and a half hours in the store, it was massive! Every time I would walk into the change room I had about 20 items of clothing to try on. However, I was in the mindset that I only needed ONE ITEM, not the entire store. This time, I think I did well- I kept my cool and only bought two items, close enough.
We all felt so exhausted after stopping by our first shop so we decided to go out to a fancy restaurant on the top floor. We went to a green tea restaurant where everything was infused and cooked with green tea- very interesting! I ordered a coconut chicken soup, which I wasn’t too happy about. It was the tiniest cup of hot water with a slice of coconut and a few chicken feet- Ew! I ended up having to pick out everything and just ended up drinking hot water for dinner! However the girls dishes were nice, I was just unlucky with my order!
After fueling up we pondered around a few other shops for another 2 hours before heading back to the car. This is where it all began. WHERE IS THE CAR!? I remember we had parked the car on the 3rd basement level in Q section. However, on the maps, there was NO Q! It was 10pm on a Thursday night and we had work the next day. This wasn’t a shopping mall just down the road from home, it was a fair distance. You DO NOT want to MESS WITH these shopping malls. They are gianormous! After searching each and every level of the carpark we needed a solution to get home! CALL THE PO PO POLICE! We had the whole police squad walking the lengths of the shopping mall carpark trying to find out car. It took two and a half hours before we realized we had parked in a new section with only one entrance, DUH. It was the funniest moment, we were absolutely fed up and exhausted by this time but nothing could beat a good laugh after finally reaching the car. It wasn’t until 1:30AM that I reached the pillow in my bed, so tired. Such a good memory I’ll never forget and definitely a good lesson in life. Next time I know to take a photo of the area!
