This has by far been the best day and night in Beijing! Spent with quality people from leaving my apartment at 9am and not getting home until after midnight! The day started with a morning badminton session with the girls at the local gym. We had our court booked out for 2 hours, but due to really bad traffic jams we were an hour late! Badminton was so much fun! At first I was a bit anxious about it, knowing how competitive Asians are with this type of sport, but I was able to keep up and smash them in a few rounds. Just after midday, we were picked up by the boys and taken to their football game at Beijing University of Technology track and field. The girls and I played basketball for half of the game and then watched the second half. The boys team had won the game 4-1! After the game we headed back to Yi’s house to get ready for the afternoon/ night at KTV.

Stepping out of the car in long fancy dresses, high heels and a full face of make up- we were ready to sing our hearts out! We stocked up and purchased 200 yuan of beer, vodka mixes and nibbles before heading into our exclusive karaoke room. Most of the songs were Chinese, but I was able to throw in a few English classics like S Club, Westlife, Backstreet Boys and Michael Buble! We had booked out the room for an hour and then drove down the road to the local BBQ restaurant.

The local BBQ restaurant at first looked a bit gross and dodgy, but after walking to the back of the building where we could see the cooks and the kitchen and a larger dining area, it wasn’t so bad. We met up with some of the football boys and had a group of 11 sitting at the table. SO MUCH FOOD was ordered, plate after plate after plate- but it was soooo good! Cartons and Cartons of beer too! I don’t usually drink beer, but Chinese beer is actually quite nice! The dinner sitting lasted about 3 hours! We couldn’t stop talking and eating and drinking- it was such a good atmosphere!

After dinner, we got back in the car and drove to another KTV where one of my friends had booked this amazing room for 3 hours! The building was so fancy, looked like a 5 star hotel! We walk into the building and are greeted to our hosts who guide us to our VIP room. Two huge plasma TV’s, 2 chandeleirs, 4 fancy couches, private wash room, 4 huge cartons of beer and 4 amazing fruit platters! We were in for a huge treat! The room would have been so expensive, I can’t even imagine how much it would have cost. From 9pm till about 12:30am we were singing our hearts out at karaoke, we all had so much fun!
